£42,000 - £47,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

Global Fortune 100 pharmaceuticals major is seeking a hard-working ambitious IT Buyer to join their growing procurement function in their state-of-the-art offices.

Their recently appointed CPO has ambitions of turning their procurement team into a best-in-class function. As such they are bringing new talent into their organisation as the project is geared at driving exceptional value on end-to-end procurement projects with both new and existing suppliers and vendors.

The role will initially place the Buyer working alongside senior members of the Procurement team and relevant Procurement Category Managers, in a role that offers tremendous progression within the first 12 - 18 months.

The Role:

• Strategically sourcing IT (Software or Hardware) within their large organisation - this will be at a local, European or group-wide scale
• Working end-to-end on procurement projects including running RFP/RFI etc
• Managing the vetting potential suppliers and the post-purchase supplier relationships
• Negotiating robust contracts with market-leading technology vendors in line with company's goals

The Senior IT Buyer will …

• Have at least 3 years' experience working with an established procurement function primarily in the IT (Software and Hardware) subcategories
• Have a track record of delivering impressive individual savings against big-budget projects, and/or achieving excellent cost-avoidance
• Thrive in a fast-paced, vibrant environment
• Be confident when managing and influencing key stakeholders
• Have a Bachelor's Degree - 2.1 and above (or equivalent) (CIPS advantageous)
