Our Operational Procurement Department (goods not for resale) are now seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised Fleet Manager to join their growing team. In this position you will cover the following areas: management of 2 drivers and the 3rd party lease provider, subject matter expert for the supply fleet, budget plan and proactive approach to the fleet industry.

This fast-paced role offers an excellent opportunity to hit the ground running, working on a profile and exposure project from the get-go with the opportunity to take on new areas of responsibility very quickly. What will you do?

  • Work on strategic projects with high level of autonomy and leadership as well as with high level of exposure within Lidl UK
  • Management of 2 private drivers for the board
  • Presenting to board level
  • To drive and maintain a close supplier relationship with the lease provider responsible for servicing a fleet in excess of 1500 vehicles across a number of national sites.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the vehicle leasing supplier, proactively manage risks and identify service optimisation and value improvement opportunities
  • Be subject matter expert for supply fleet, core processes and associated systems and how they integrate across the vehicle lifecycle.
  • Provide demonstrable management information to evidence improvements in efficiency, ensuring optimum vehicle availability and compliance is achieved.
  • Budget planning for the categories of responsibility, understanding of cost categories and cost drivers, ability to extract and analyse complex sets of data

What will you need?

  • Degree Qualified or Equivalent (e.g. CIPS, ICFM or similar industry qualification)
  • An excellent communicator, effective negotiator and confident presenter (able to present and propose projects/ideas to Board level employees)
  • An in depth knowledge of the Fleet Maintenance industry from a senior management position
  • 3rd Party Supplier/Contract/Account Management
  • Proven project management experience
  • Technical mind-set
  • Detail orientated and able to manage conflicting deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Passion for fleet management and industry’s developments
  • Pro-active, positive and innovative attitude and a strong focus
  • A full driving license is required
  • German language is desirable but not essential
