The Company
We are representing a national wholesale business based in Leicester. They have an incredibly low staff turnover, are a market leader in their field and have a very loyal and expanding customer base across the UK.
The Role
As the Logistics Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Operations Director. You will be in charge of identifying and leading projects across all areas of logistics and supply chain. Reporting into you will be managers responsible for health and safety, facilities management, transport planning, stock optimisation and warehouse planning.
You will be a key member of senior operations team concerned with planning, coordinating and managing performance, adapting the operation to manage change and helping to shape the future strategy.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Establishing effective working relationships with all areas of the organisation.
- Summarising results and compiling presentations for the rest of the business.
- Ability to work cross functionally with teams in commercial, procurement, finance, supply chain and operations.
- Challenging the way things are done, providing evidence-based analysis to the rest of the business.
- Leading projects from start to finish providing a more effective logistics operation in any way appropriate.
- Transport Network optimisation.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00.
The Skills Required
The successful candidate will have worked in a number of different logistics environments as a Logistics Project Manager and be able to clearly demonstrate this on their CV. Other requirements will be:
- A completer finisher
- Highly analytical mindset
- Very competent with WMS and TMS systems
- Very strong man management and interpersonal skills
- Strong communicator both written and oral
- Degree Educated in Logistics, Supply Chain or Projects would be advantageous.
- Lean Six Sigma qualified or equivalent
- Prince 2 qualified highly desirable
- IOSH desirable
- CPC National & International desirable
- Commutable to Leicester on a daily basis
