Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a fantastic, growing business based on the outskirts of Knaresborough who require a Purchasing Assistant to join their existing purchasing and inventory team. This is an great role for an individual who has ideally worked within a purchasing/procurement position and therefore understands the challenges and complexities that they will potentially face. The main duties of the role will involve:-
-Working in the Purchasing team to liaise with the accounts and warehouse departments to identify and resolve purchasing and supply related queries
-Dealing with purchasers and suppliers on a day to day basis in regards to orders and any queries
-Sending purchase orders to suppliers and completing related documentation
-Resolving delivery issues raised by dealing with suppliers quickly and efficiently
-Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing suppliers
-Finding new suppliers and setting up terms and conditions
-Putting quotes together
-Ordering stock and non-stock items and negotiating prices
-Maintaining accurate records of stock and equipment and updating the database

The ideal candidate will:-

-Be a confident communicator with a hunger to develop and learn new things
-Have worked within a similar role and will have previous experience of procurement and purchasing
-Will have previous experience of dealing with escalated queries and the ability to deliver excellent customer service at all times
-Have the ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise workload and be able to multitask
-Have a can do attitude and will be an approachable team player
-Have excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail are also crucial
