The Candidate

Your skills, experiences and attributes will include...

• 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position within a Logistics/ Warehousing facility.
• FMCG / high volume distribution experience is preferred.
• Experience using FLT, Terberg and similar equipment
• Experience in running a team in a fast-based environment an advantage
• Full driving licence;
• ILM or NEBSM or similar an advantage
• A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem solving skills.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading the team and the day to day operations in an efficient, cost effective, safe manner, whilst ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with any legislative requirements, liaising with all departments on site as required.
Duties will include...

• To Lead the allocated team, and develop and maintain a team based approach to ensure the performance objections of the business are met. Managing and streamlining of operational practices with a strong emphasis on optimising operational cost, within the allocated budget
• To lead and encourage team members to embrace a positive, active and involved health and safety culture throughout the business, whilst maintain and monitoring health and safety, quality assurance systems together with the safe and efficient use and allocation and monitoring of plant and equipment used in the Yard process.
• Ensure that all stock is correctly received and located ensuring maximum storage efficiencies are achieved and product is stored correctly and safely and free from damage. Maintain and promote a clean as you go culture and provide a FIFO process to ensure finished product is dispatched correctly.
• Ensure that all Department KPI's are achieved in relation to Quality, storage and site turnaround times. Provide and implement a foot print for change to ensure that you continually reviewing process and making changes to improve.
• Needs to be available for shift work and overtime when required. Needs to be physically fit and able to work outside in all weathers (PPE will be provided)
• All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises
• Lead and Performance manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.
