This global manufacturer is experiencing huge growth and as a result have created a new position within the business. They are currently seeking a Logistics Manager who can help shape the future of their warehousing and purchasing functions. This is a great role for either an experienced Team Leader/Manager or perhaps someone who is looking to take the next step in their career. This is a real process improvement role, the company has experienced significant growth and are looking to streamline a lot of their internal processes.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Logistics Manager will include:
- Managing a team of 8 staff, allocating workload etc...
- Working with Operations Manager as their Logistics Manager to redesign warehouse layout and how to better use space
- Working with purchasing team to establish best practice when buying goods in
- Assist with the changeover to a 'two shift' system
- Look to make process improvements of how stock is received, stored and the flow through to production
- Establishing standards within the warehouse and best practice
- Staff training and development
- Placing orders for raw materials
- Forecasting
- General day to day warehouse/production support to the team when required. This will include forklift operation, booking in deliveries, stock movements etc...
Essential requirements of a Logistics Manager will include::
- Previous experience within a Logistics/Warehouse Management role
- Experience in managing teams and how to get the best out of them
- Forklift license or the willingness to get one is essential
- Experience in process improvement
- Experience in purchasing of raw materials, inventory/stock control etc...
- Ability to potential redesign a warehouse layout and how the space can be best used
- SAP knowledge would be desirable but not essential
- Ability to get stuck in the with the team and process orders when required
