Our client is a leading manufacturing business who have experienced year on year growth for the last 5 years and will continue to build on a strong order book for the coming years. They are looking for a Supply Chain Operations Manager to join the business on a permanent basis. You will be based at the Head Office in West Yorkshire, near Huddersfield.
The role as Supply Chain Operations Manager covers: Inbound, Internal Material Movement, Inventory Management and Outbound logistics.
Key outcomes of the role are to impact on all of these areas:
*Reduce Inventory
*Improve Inventory Turns
*Increase Supplier OTD
*Improve Planning Forecast
*Improve logistic planning
The Supply Chain Operations Manager will be taking overall responsibility for material movements. Your role will not only support the production team, but will manage the suppliers delivery and internal teams in all aspects of SLA and KPI delivery.
Duties:
* Introduce improvements to the forward planning process to enable earlier detection of capacity constraints.
* Work closely with all departments to ensure effective and efficient running of the production plans.
* Continuous improvement and implementation of plans and new ideas.
* Manage activities associated with material movement, receiving through to dispatch.
* Maintain a complete and thorough understanding of inventory control and systems, develop and manage team, improve their skills and performance.
* Lead scheduling meetings as required, achieving optimum performance
* Introduce inventory and performance processes as required to maintain control
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Degree or equivalent
* Process improvement knowledge/skills
* Good influencing and persuasive skills; present a calm and professional demeanour
* Strong relationship building skills
* Ability to work effectively and proactively
* A self-starter with the tenacity and resilience to manage obstacles and delays
Salary
£40,000 - £50,000
+ package
