Senior Shipping Logistics Coordinator (Worldwide)

An exciting high profile cross trade role has arisen to work for a manufacturing and distribution company based at their controlling point for stock worldwide in Blackburn.

As a key member of the Senior Management team you will report directly to the Managing Director, working alongside other Senior Managers you will be part of the team that will drive the company forward delivering growth and expanding our worldwide operations.

- You will have overall responsibility for the company's logistical operations from supplier collections through to the final customer delivery.
- To succeed in this position you will need to be a fast learner with a proven track record in Logistics Management. And have a flexible approach towards working hours and overseas travel.
- The role is office based controlling the movement of goods between our manufacturing partners and third party warehouses through to final customers therefore experience Importing and Exporting goods between multiple countries worldwide as well as Into, out of and within the EU is essential, (please do not apply if you don't have prior experience of this)

Responsibilities
* Identifying and selecting distribution and warehouse partners worldwide.
* Negotiate rates and contracts with selected partners.
* Worldwide travel visiting and auditing our chosen partners worldwide ensuring that they are delivering to our exacting standards.
* Full understanding of the required import and export processes, legalities including documentation, customs and duties.
* Create processes for all aspects of our logistical operations.
* Provide training to our external partners and internal Customer Service Department so they deliver right first time every time.
* As the companies Logistics expert you will have the final say on all logistical issues both internal and external.
* Work closely with the Senior Managers on new projects to ensure that the required logistics are in place and understood.
* Work alongside the companies Finance Manager in order to provide accurate pricing for product costings.
* Strategically planning the company's future logistic operation taking into account product order changes, new products, required stock level fluctuations and worldwide economic changes.
* Monitor the whole operation and produce KPI data that allows the Logistical operation to be monitored and managed effectively.
* Ensure our operations comply with law, regulations, H & S and ISO requirements.
* Resolve problems and complaints that are logistically related.
* Follow all established safety, health, quality and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.

* Work independently or as part of a team
* Handle multiple projects at any one time
* Appropriate Import/Export qualifications ideally with a background in nthe movement of worldwide stock
* Regular reporting to the Directors
* Flexibility towards working hours
* Proven experience as a Logistics Manager/Supervisor

Ideally a background in both Sea Freight and Road Freight with knowledge of commodity codes, trade tariffs and customs knowledge.

Working Hours
40 hours per week, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm with 30 mins unpaid lunch break. However as our operation is worldwide you will be expected to read and respond when necessary to emails outside these hours.
