Context for the Role:

Sitting in the Sports, Leisure and Entertainment team, working primarily out of the Laindon office providing administrative and technical support to improve operational and underwriting position

Purpose of the Role:

To help deliver consistent improvement in terms of numbers and performance across the SLE business. Relationship management with external stakeholders such as capacity and claims whilst also building excellent relations with internal departments such as claims, human resources, finance, operations, legal and treasuary

Assist with the day to day administration in regard to management and performance of staff.

Key Role Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the smooth running of assigned portfolio on a day to day basis, answering calls, emails and enquires professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Develop, maintain and cultivate a constructive and professional relationship with clients and insurers at all levels.
  • Functional Reporting - collating and showing data across Renewals, New Business, Service Levels and Cash flow in an agreed format and within set deadlines
  • MI Collation - Binder details and loss ratios ready for renewals and or new tender set ups.
  • Managing recording and reporting Staff Absences such as holidays and sick leave and answering or directing staff appropriately in regards to day to day queries.
  • Constantly reviewing processes and procedures seeking efficiency’s and improvements if possible
  • Renewal underwriting processing 20 -30 renewals a month for key account in line with authority level and companies’ guidelines
  • Sickness and holiday cover for Underwriters within recorded authority levels, referring business or cases if need be.
  • Meetings - Internal and external understanding that everyone has a duty to drive business performance
  • IT Resolution and Development - Maintaining system and helping with improvements where possible.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to Level 3 or above
  • Experience of working with Excel spreadsheets to an advanced level
  • Proven Customer Service Skills - Formal qualification or Training an advantage
  • Substantial experience in a similar role
  • Previous Underwriting Experience would be an advantage as would exposure to the Sports, Leisure and Entertainment industry.
