Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm

A well-established manufacturer in Kirkby are seeking a Materials Buyer to join their team. As a Materials Buyer you will be responsible for purchasing all direct and indirect manufacturing materials together with factory service contracts. You will also be responsible for quality, cost and delivery to fit the business needs. On offer is a basic salary of £26,000. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm. Please note this is also a permanent position.

The main duties of a Materials Buyer are;

• Purchase materials and services in line with business needs
• Expediting purchase orders
• Update and maintain purchase order dates to ensure viewable for relevant staff
• Maintaining and updating all purchase records including quotes, contracts, orders, certifications and declarations
• Identifying new suppliers, negotiating best prices and lead times. Also presenting alternatives for consideration
• Resolving any supplier invoice queries
• Maintaining supplier details on the system
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support manufacturing output
• Any other general office administration duties required

To be considered for this position you must possess the following;

• Ideally you will have worked in a similar position with an SME engineering environment. However those from other buying backgrounds will also be considered
• Be a proactive worker with strong planning skills
• Be able to contribute effectively in a team environment
