Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client in recruiting for an Operations Manager. This is a key and valued role within the organisation, a leading and well established business with an excellent reputation.
Reporting into the International Business Development Director, our client is seeking an experienced candidate from the transport/logistics sector. Managing a team of dedicated and experienced professionals, in a fast-paced environment, this is an exciting opportunity!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing operations & providing support for all sides of the business to ensure business financial targets are met.
- Haulier facing / customer account management:
- Managing and developing new and existing carrier relations - tracking & tracing/lane allocations/cost negotiation/selling.
- Managing assigned customer accounts to look after existing business & grow accounts to meet set targets.
- New business development projects.
- To meet growth goals for existing & new accounts in line with yearly budget to achieve bonus.
- To manage all business and be point of contact during Branch Managers absence.
- Continually review service offering & geographical coverage to support aims of the business.
- To set up new customers and carriers in line with company policies.
- To develop relationships with the company wider network and head office functions.
Working hours are 08:00 - 17:00, with some flexibility required due to the nature of the business. You will also be required to travel within the UK/Europe, as part of the role - around once a month.
The ideal candidate:
- Experienced Operations Manager from the transport/logistics sector
- Experienced team manager with good people skills, able to lead, motivate and manage a team
- Able to work well within a fast-paced environment
- Customer focussed with strong commercial acumen and experienced working to targets / maximising growth opportunities
- International freight forwarding / road haulage experience essential
- CPC holder preferable
- Ability to make quick and good decisions
- Accurate record keeping skills
- Full drivers licence
