Supply Chain Leader (Chemical Manufacturing)

As the Supply Chain leader you will be responsible for the supervision of the inbound and outbound traffic, managing the transactional buying, delivery process of raw materials, products including placement and delivery of purchase orders and working closely with the 3PL service providers. Your Key Responsibilities as the Supply Chain Leader will involve:

  • Maintaining and developing the customer relationships through managing the day to day supply chain activity
  • Monitoring the overall performance in the supply chain and make sure targets are met
  • Maintaining the production forecast and match inventories to the sales demand
  • Maintain relationships with the 3PL provider and toll manufacturers / manufacturing partners to achieve best possible value
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure development projects and supply contracts are fulfilled
  • Working with the Administration and sales department to maintain correct Stocks and product identification for stock control, and ensure purchase pricing is in the ERP system to use reporting suite for information
  • Process sales and purchase orders through the MRP system
  • Maintain the internal stock control system effectively
  • Carrying out internal stock checks weekly on a weekly basis and manage external warehouse stock checks on monthly basis, investigating and rectifying any anomalies
  • Liaise with other departments including operations, production and sales & finance
  • Report freight costs with a constant view of finding ways of reducing costs whilst maximizing value.
  • Monitor and close all non-conformance issues
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, identify and resolve supply chain issues
  • Ensure stock levels are proactively managed to appropriate levels within an agreed budget
  • Monitor overall performance of the supply chain and ensure corrective actions are implemented to address issues

Skills you will have to be successful in your new role

  • Highly motivated, positive, confident and determined disposition
  • Working experience within a Supply Chain and Logistics role utilising MRP, MIS and CRM software packages
  • Knowledge of hazardous goods
  • Current UK driving license
  • Good geographical knowledge (EU)
  • Strong communication skills are essential in both Written and Verbal
  • Well organised and methodical, working to a high level of detail
  • Accomplished MS Office systems knowledge, especially in MS Excel
  • Must demonstrate cooperative, positive 'can do' attitude with strong work ethic and ability to work to deadlines
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Practical knowledge of working in an ISO9001 certified business
