Warehouse Team Manager 18 month FTC

Our client in Rushden is recruiting a Warehouse Team Manager on a contract basis for a period of 18 months, to direct operational activities for DC functions to meet people, process, cost and service expectations. This role supports and drives continuous improvement efforts across the business, and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:-

• Lead and engage the teams, managing them fairly and consistently, in a way that drives the company culture and supports their vision and values
• Support the development of SOP's for the Campus, ensuring all employees are trained against these SOP's before they are operational, and ensure compliance at all times.
• Create a great place to work, by facilitating effective communication across Campus, promoting H&S best practice, plus helping develop a culture of continuous improvement; contribute to and support future Campus plans as the company evolves.
• Responsible for team member performance reviews, coaching and development, to support Campus succession plans
• Plan, manage and adjust resource levels to meet operational requirements across the Campus, enabling smooth running of the business and the achievement of all KPI's and SLA's

To be considered, you will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:-

• Previous experience in a DC distribution/warehousing environment, with a knowledge of end-to-end warehousing processes, ideally gained in a fashion/lifestyle or FMCG environment
• Strong organisational skills, with a flexible approach to meeting business needs, plus good problem solving and decision making ability
• Experience of leading and managing a team, with a proven ability to effectively use a variety of people management tools and processes, in order to achieve operational objectives
• Skilled at building productive and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders e.g. fellow Team Managers, Leadership team, Retail stores, Head Office, 3rd party suppliers/carriers
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with a working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office I.T packages
