Supply Chain Manager

£50-£60K

Supplying over 4,000 engines per year for one of the UK's favourite car brands! Placing highly in the Top 10 performance cars of 2019!

Your Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating and co-ordinating with a mature supply chain and maintaining processes to ensure a seamless supply of power-train products to the customer.
  • Manage a complex multi-commodity global supply chain spanning niche volumes through to multi-national automotive conglomerates.
  • Recruit, manage and develop the supply chain team, including planning, warehouse, logistics and inspection
  • Lead and deliver supply chain cost saving initiatives, including re-sourcing where necessary
  • Liaise closely with the customer on their demand schedules and flow these through supply chain.
  • Manage and develop the organisations demand planning system.
  • Manage the stock levels of the operation to within budget and continue to achieve excellence in annual stock-take performance.
  • Lead purchase contract negotiations to maximise component cost control and savings.
  • Manage the supply of aftermarket parts to a third party provider.
  • Ensure continuity of supply to the end customer at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with wider SCM/Procurement functions to strive for standardisation of supply chain processes to achieve a 'best in class' and consistent way of working across the group.


Professional and Personal Experience

  • Significant experience in (preferably automotive) Supply Chain management and will demand the highest standards in quality, efficiency, delivery performance and value for money.
  • They will be able to quickly assess critical issues affecting the supply chain and provide an appropriate management response.
  • Key to delivering a first-class supply chain function will be the individual's ability to interface with internal departments and external service providers at all levels in order to foster collaborative practices.


Essential to this role would be:

  • Good planning and commercial skills.
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Confidence in using ERP systems such as BAAN / SAP or an equivalent
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body is desirable
