We are currently recruiting for a Global Shipping/Logistics Company for an Operations Coordinator to work within their operations department for a client account in their offices in Stratford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an established business in a challenging role.

The position consists of the tracking of deliveries to distribution centres, maintaining a high level of communication with both internal and external parties.  Track & collate inbound documentation from origins to ensure timely handover to brokerage department for customs procedures to take place in time for prompt delivery to distribution centres, whilst ensuring customer KPI requirements are being met. 

Key deliverables include:

  • Establish effective communications with carriers/ customer/business overseas offices
  • Follow up with business origins / suppliers / customer to ensure required documentation is received for cargo release– specifically bills of lading.
  • Tracking of deliveries, liaising with carriers/hauliers/ customer/distribution centers.
  • Being able to Multi task
  • Co-ordination of deliveries and update of relevant systems / reports as required.
  • Participate in periodic operational review with client if required
  • Maximise revenue, contain cost
  • Maintain internal service level
  • Co-operate with other teams to ensure cost/revenue are processed accurately and on time.

Measure: Deliver first class customer service to be measured by customer service feedback and internal/external KPI.

Key Accountabilities/Duties

  • Deliver “A Team” customer service in terms of delivery, performance and response time
  • Maintain KPI suite for on-time delivery
  • Processing cost / revenue in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours (8am–4pm, 10am–6pm shifts).
  • Team player
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Self-motivated, able to work without supervision

 Experience

  • Strong proven experience in an operational role within logistics, shipping, forwarding, transport or retailers/ manufacturers logistics unit, likely to be a few years.
  • Two years internal/external customer service within a team environment desirable
  • Very good working knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook
