Category Manager - IT - Software

Iconic FMCG company with revenues of over £100bn is seeking a Category Manager to join their growing procurement team in their state-of-the-art office in Nottingham. With the freedom of working autonomously, you will be accountable for spend across the Software subcategory and delivering value from existing relationships. Projects will range from a local to continent-wide projects. As such they are seeking a collaborative procurement professional with exceptional stakeholder management skills too.

The role:

• Predominantly working on complex end to end procurement projects in the IT category software
• Ensuring timely delivery of procurement projects
• Projects will range between local, regional, group-wide
• Meeting with key internal stakeholders
  • Staying up to date with current market trends so as to provide thought-leadership and expert knowledge
• Leading negotiations with existing vendors/suppliers, and leading tender processes when necessary to secure robust contracts with potential new suppliers/vendors

Requirements for the role:

• Solid experience in the IT procurement category
• Previous experience in a matrix organization and working on a number of projects at a time
• Ability to deliver successful projects or negotiations in a timely fashion in line with company interests - within budget
  • History of identifying cost avoidance as well as delivering impressive individual savings
• Confidence when managing and influencing senior stakeholders - internal and external
• Good technical knowledge of e-Tendering platforms (SAP, Ariba, Oracle)
