REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineeering & Manufacturing company with a global client base.
Job Summary
The main purpose of this job is to act as a member of the Company Procurement team, creating a strategy and executing to deliver on time, cost effective procurement of raw materials, parts and supplies that meet specifications for production and customer requirements.
Main Duties
• Perform pre-award functions for procurements involving contracts of materials, services, equipment, and supplies.
• Participate in weekly meetings with all internal customers and operating departments to insure the availability of the correct materials to meet requirements.
• Risk Management analysis of vendors including Qualifications/Audits and Supplier Assessments.
• Award and administer sound long-term agreements/contracts.
• Create inventory strategies that support the business objectives and manage purchasing activity to them.
• Drive Continuous improvement and reporting through metrics and Company tools in support of supplier performance, inventory objectives, and operations objectives.
• Receive and review requisitions and process purchase orders in Oracle ERP
• Develop detailed Statements of Work and Scope of Services.
• Perform vendor technical proposal and cost proposal evaluation.
• Negotiate price, delivery, and terms and conditions.
• Manage assigned acquisition portfolio
• Develop and report cost savings
Skills, Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements:
• Degree or equivalent/experience
• CIPS Advanced Certificate / Diploma would be adantageous
Demonstrable Experience of:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs.
• Company, products, objectives and operations.
• Quality systems and technical specifications
• Financial metrics and analytics
• Oracle, Maximo, etc. experience a plus.
• Experience in cost/financial analytics along with an ability to initiate and propose cost saving projects is preferred.
• Successfully balancing multiple projects at various stages with limited supervision in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
• Working independently as well as with and through others to achieved desired results.
• Ability to analyse and resolve difficult problems effectively and timely through the implementation of long-term solutions.
• Effective negotiation and the ability to resolve conflict.
• Ability to foster collaborations, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals across diverse teams in a manufacturing environment in order to meet objectives.
• Cross Cultural Agility
You will ideally have the follwing attributes:
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Contract Management and Negotiations
