Our client is a leading manufacturer who supplies their award winning goods across the UK retail Market.

As Senior Buyer you will be sourcing and purchasing a range of materials from new and existing Suppliers to the required quality standards whilst maximising cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor performance of vendors whilst maintaining good working relationships.
- To source new and replacement materials as required in line with NPD, reformulations and availability.
- To liaise, on a regular basis, with the Planner, Product Development Technologist, Director of Operations, Director of Technical Sales, Director of Commerce and keep the Director of Operations informed of any difficulties at all times.
- To order all materials as required, and ensure all materials conform to GMP standards and legal requirements in conjunction with Technical.
- To produce and maintain a nominated supplier listing and negotiate contracts for direct and indirect purchasing as required.
- To source alternative suppliers for main goods / materials used
- To provide accurate, relevant and timely information and reports for Management Accountant and other Managers as required.
- Liaise with suppliers to reschedule deliveries with Production Planner to ensure stock is maintained at an agreed level and value.
- To check purchase invoices are accurate and pass for payment to accounts
The successful candidate will need to have previous experience working as a Buyer - ideally with a food or similar background. You will possess excellent negotiating skills as well as experience in procurement as well as solid communication and articulation skills and attention to detail is key.
