My client is currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Co-ordinator who will be responsible for forecasting, co-ordinating and running an efficient inventory level for their brand in Southport.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a highly pressurised, continually changing environment and they will need to be flexible with the agility to adapt to situations which may change at short notice. Candidates who can effectively manage their time and workload will be ideal for this role. If you have strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel, we would encourage your application!

What does the role involve?

Along with the forecasting and planning the stock for the branch the Purchasing Co-ordinator will also be raising PO’s and ordering stock. A key area of the role will include the processing of supplier invoices and you will be responsible for the daily PSI’s and arranging carriers together with other general administration duties.

In this role of Purchasing Co-ordinator there will be a strong emphasis on materials and stock planning and the successful candidate will need to develop a close working relationship with the Transport Planner and Manager, internal sales team and with other branches to ensure they can deliver a high-quality service to their customer base.

We are looking for candidates who have previously worked in administration or who are familiar with the processes involved with stock control. If you are organised, motivated, have excellent attention to detail and able to communicate well with others, this could be the role for you!

The successful candidate will be responsible for building a rapport with existing suppliers to maximise the level of service they provide and you will be responsible for achieving the inventory KPI’s for the branch. As Purchasing Co-ordinator you will report directly into the General Manager. You will use a variety of tools to assist in the planning and control of the inventory in branch whilst also processing and investigating various stock related reports on K8, our internal system. Strong communication skills are essential in this role both orally and written.
