Our client, an established and successful Freight Forwarding company based in Dartford, is currently looking for an Operations Manager to join their team on a full time basis.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing the operations department within a freight forwarding company with 3rd party hauliers.
Key duties include:
- Supervising a team of 5 - 1 export planner, 1 import planner, 1 import administer, 1 export administrator and a supervisor within the team.
- Managing operations and providing support for all sides of the business.
- Managing and developing new and existing carrier relations - tracking & tracing/lane allocations/costs negotiations/selling
- New business development projects
- International travel to client meetings 1-2 per a quarter
Person attributes:
- A good command of written and spoken English essential.
- Excellent numeric skills.
- Flexible attitude to working hours and workload demands.
- Ability manage a team
