Buyer - Leicester - CIPS Study Support

My client are a complex retail business supplying to a wide National and International customer base. They purchase from up to 700 suppliers globally and distribute to thousands of clients n the UK and the Middle East.

Your new role

This role is working within a small but very experienced function and is an exceptional opportunity to further develop a career in Procurement, not least, evidenced by the organisations commitment to study support.

The role is predominantly operational, demand planning for their small internal production department so strong analytical and communication skills are required along with a high level of tenacity

The team is responsible for purchasing over 20,000 SKU's from a global supply base of over 500 suppliers. The successful candidate will have experience of inventory lead procurement process.

The key functions of this role include:
- Ensuring internal works orders are generated to replenish stock on a daily basis to meet inventory KPI's
- Continuously analyse and maintain the company's ERP system
- Expedite purchase orders
- Advise internal customers on procurement issues and ensure they are resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner
- Participate in the evaluation of suppliers

- Contribute to the purchasing strategy
