Hilton Foods UK are currently looking for a Logistics Supervisor to join our team based in Huntingdon. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (working nights) and will receive a competitive starting salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (depending on experience).

The role of the Logistics Supervisor is to ensure the safe, effective and productive operation of all aspects of Hilton Foods’ logistics department under the direction of the Logistics Shift Manager. You will manage the shift logistics team, ensuring that all targets are met and all procedures are followed.

Working hours: Nights position 5pm – 5am, 4 on 4 off

Key responsibilities of our Logistics Supervisor

- Effectively understand and supervise the day to day resources of the shift to include awareness of goods coming in; awareness of goods going out; any internal requirements

- Prioritise and control work that is allocated to staff using all resources effectively and efficiently

- Retain supervisory awareness at all times particularly if involved in other tasks i.e. assisting with loading/unloading etc.

- Ensure that company standards for hygiene and housekeeping are met with all staff using the correct P.P.E.

- Manage the training and development of operatives to ensure legal compliance and operational continuity

- Working with the Logistics Admin Staff to record and resolve any discrepancies and/or problems and ensuring quality checks and operational updates are completed as required

- Deputise for the Logistics Shift Manager during periods of absence or annual leave.

What we’re looking for in our Logistics Supervisor

- Previous Warehouse experience or managing in a warehouse operational role

- Self-motivated

- Pro-active

- Well organised and able to work unsupervised

- Able to communicate with all levels within the business

- Able to provide clear leadership qualities and have the ability to maintain motivation of the Logistics team

Health & Safety:

- Be familiar with and confirm to the company’s Health and Safety Programme

- Comply with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and observe all safety rules

- Do not endanger yourself or others by your actions or omissions

- Use appropriate protective clothing, safety equipment and safety devices at all times

- Report all accidents/injuries and near misses immediately

- Follow all instructions given by any person with a responsibility for health and safety

- Keep your place of work in a clean and tidy condition at all times

- Report all hazards / non-conformances / substandard conditions as observed and make representations for improvements to the Engineering Manager /Supervisor or safety representative
