Interim Head of Procurement

Our client is a global consultancy powerhouse specialising in procurement in the engineering field. They frequently consult with some of the biggest and fastest-growing companies in the world. With growing revenues in the billions and over 40,000 staff worldwide, this is a perfect opportunity to join their growing dedicated procurement team.

They are looking for an experienced procurement professional to develop their key Indirect procurement categories including Prof Services, IT, Travel and more. You'll have the opportunity to build and lead your team of Category Managers and truly make an impact on the organisation's bright future.

As the Interim Head of Procurement, you will…

• Initially you will build and lead a team of your own Category Managers, focussing on Indirects e.g. IT, Travel, Prof Services and more. You will also play a key role in devising and driving the overall strategy of the procurement team and managing projects from start to finish. As such, this will involve managing and developing key relationships with vendors/suppliers. Essential to this role will be owning budgets for each project - setting and monitoring spend from each category, as well as supporting their S2P and audit process.
• Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to stay up to date with market trends to identify immediate and future opportunities for growth with the next few years in mind (medium - long term view).

Key requirements

• 10+ years in procurement - leading procurement categories and strategic purchasing, ideally in large-scale organisations
• Experience managing large budgets (c. £200m)
  • Track record of achieving impressive individual savings against budgets
• Experience managing and negotiating with a selection of suppliers
  • Utilising decision-making tools/methods to assist
• Knowledge of P2P and e-tendering platforms will be beneficial

• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally
