Purchasing Manager
Up to £37,000 + benefits
Monday - Friday 09:00-17:30
My client are market leaders within their sector, who are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team.
You will support, train and oversee a team of Assistant Buyers as well as hold key responsibility for purchasing of core vendors.
The Role;
- Responsible for placing and chasing more complexed orders with suppliers
- Responsible for placing project orders
- Ownership of key vendor purchasing
- Applying for special pricing where required for large quantity items and projects
- Stock forecasting for direct vendors
- Ongoing in stock analysis ensuring run rates are maintained
- Direct management responsibility for two Assistant Buyers, including allocating daily tasks and monitoring performance and be escalation point for the team and any other teams
- Work alongside marketing and vendors for events, webinars etc
- Daily PO approvals, checks carried out to ensure accuracy and maximisation of profit
- Creating KPIs for the team based on a range of metrics and objectives
- Continual improvement of the processes and procedures within the department
- Approval and evaluation of new and existing suppliers
- Keeping on top of slow-moving stock and proving analysis to relevant departments
- Fix and investigate any stock errors on the system that may arise with the Warehouse Managers input
Skills;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement role
- Minimum 1-year experience in management
- Experience of negotiating with key suppliers
- Experience of managing and developing others
- Understanding of KPIs in terms of structure and achievement
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent planning skills
- Understanding of financial drivers in procurement
- Good understanding of Microsoft packages especially Excel
