Procurement Contracts Specialist
An interesting and unique position has become available on a permanent basis working with an important avionics company who are globally respected for being at the forefront of their field.
Job Description
As Procurement Contracts Specialist you will:
*Work with internal customers to scope and define business requirements with a view to specifying innovative and cost-effective supply chain solutions which enhance the level of support offered to customers.
*Negotiate and manage supplier contracts for performance of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for a range of hydro-mechanical equipment.
*Take the lead in day to day management of assigned suppliers and work with colleagues internally to optimise supplier performance.
*Support the company's acquisition of new business by participating in the bidding process
Key Responsibility Areas
*Day to day management and administration of assigned supplier accounts in order to resolve issues in a timely manner so that the flow of material to Customers is not interrupted,
*Timely issue of purchase orders for the performance of MRO services,
*Negotiation of long term support agreements for the performance of MRO services for customer owned assets to improve the levels of service LHD is able to provide to Customers and to reduce support costs,
*Maximise profitability whilst maintaining focus on asset availability,
*Build professional and effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and
*Work with Material Services to improve the performance of designated suppliers.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
*Ideally an experienced procurement professional with knowledge and experience in MRO operations
*Experience in supplier or customer facing role preferably in defence and/or aerospace sector
*Engineering and/or customer support experience would be an advantage, ideally within military aerospace
*Experience or aptitude for contract development and negotiation
*Experience working in a team environment
*Capable of working with a degree of autonomy
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent with good level of numeracy and literacy
