I'm working with a leading manufacturing business based in Redditch in their search for an assistant buyer. This is a permanent role paying up to £25,000 per annum. Would suit a bright, eager person from a manufacturing background with 1 / 2 years experience looking to step up.
Job Purpose
The role will require an individual to have previous experience in a Purchasing role. Someone who is self-motivated, team player also capable of working alone against tight delivery schedules working for an ever growing busy manufacturing company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Raising purchase order from MRP system
- Expediting purchase orders
- Building relationships with suppliers
- Deal with invoice queries
- Collaboration with Planning, Quality and Design Office to meet purchasing needs
- Investigate and cultivate new sources of supply
- Perform data analysis reports on supplier performance to ensure suppliers meet and maintain expected performance levels
Skills and Experience
- Must be able to work independently, take initiative, be comfortable in a hands-on role, and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Possess strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload while dealing with multiple tasks efficiently and with limited supervision.
- Be numerate and computer literate
- Clear communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to see cost down opportunities
- Have a pleasant, confident manner for dealing with a range of people
- Have the ability to analyse and assess information
