International Logistics Coordinator

£25,000 - £27,000

Hours Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm

Package to include Pension, 20 days holiday + banks

Overview

The purpose of this role is to support the Far East Procurement Team in scheduling, logging and managing product deliveries to our head office. You will be liaising directly with our internal teams as well as our suppliers.

You will play a proactive role in written and verbal communication with various departments and stakeholders, as you maintain Orlight’s exceptionally high levels of service, both for our customers and suppliers.

Main Duties:

  • Liaising with suppliers for packing lists and/or order finish dates
  • Organising international imports
  • Able to confidently negotiate tenders for each consignment
  • Update and maintain Delivery Schedule
  • Aid our Accounts team with Freight Invoices
  • Provide updates to Sales departments for incoming consignments
  • Liaise with the Warehouse to organise deliveries
  • Track samples due in to the company and provide weekly updates to Technical department
  • Raise internal paperwork for each consignment
  • Provide MD, FD and Payment Manager monthly reports for sea freight consignments due
  • Provide clearance instructions to Forwarders: i.e. HS commodity codes, copies of commercial invoices, etc
  • Check all consignments booked into internal system by Warehouse department
  • Produce weekly report to Warehouse with consignments due for the following week
  • Administer and prioritise daily emails

Skills and Requirements

  • Advanced level of Microsoft packages like Excel
  • Experience in a similar role essential
  • Can demonstrate a good understanding of MRP systems
  • Attention to details and ability to multitask
  • Ability prioritise workload/time management
  • A good team player as well as self-motivated when working by yourself
  • Basic understanding of freight

Based in St Albans, Orlight is just 10 minutes away from Radlett Station which runs on to the Thameslink Rail and can be accessed from stations such as St Pancras, Kentish Town, Hendon and Mill Hill. We are situated on Victor Way in Colney Street which is situated 10 minutes from the M1.
