Transport Operations and Service Delivery Manager

c£45,000 plus Benefits

Our client is an established and highly successful transport business and enjoys an enviable reputation for service, quality and customer support.

They wish to strengthen their operational and service delivery capabilities by appointing an experienced Transport Operations professional who can lead, manage and deliver efficient and effective service delivery. The role will be part of the Company’s senior management team and key areas of responsibility and accountability will include:

  • Management of all operational / service delivery activities within agreed budgets
  • Operations team management ensuring engagement, competency, performance and development are professionally managed
  • Delivery of targeted KPI’s and contracted Service Level Agreements
  • Collaborate with senior manager colleagues to support business growth, taking a continuous improvement approach to identifying and driving operational efficiencies, which will encompass people, systems and processes
  • Ensure legal responsibilities relating to the Operating Licence and compliance matters are adhered to, and appropriate action is taken to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Demand and resource planning; scheduling of vehicle fleets and drivers
  • Health and Safety
  • Management and support of on-call cover arrangements.

Candidates will have experience in operations management and service delivery within the transport or logistics sector, and need to be capable of contributing to and supporting the commercial development of the business. This is a hands-on role calling for a professional and collaborative approach, and an ability to align operational and service delivery with commercial objectives, sales, and customer service demand. Appropriate driving / CPC licences are required.
