A brand new opportunity as a Supply Planner has arisen within a rapidly growing business based in Chesterfield.
Client Details
The client which I've partnered up with specialise in supplying a wide range of products into the hospitality sector. After a number of successful years they recently went through an expansion, opening a brand new site within the Chesterfield area. With further plans to grow over the next few years they're looking to strengthen their supply chain team by recruiting a Supply Planner.
Description
As the Supply Planner you will have the following responsibilities;
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to meet business needs
- Using various forecasting techniques to manage a vast range of products to maximise availability whilst optimising inventory.
- Manage a portfolio of products with suppliers based in the Far East
- Manage inventory to target reductions where appropriate
- Raise / amend purchase orders as requirements suggest through the MRP system
- Measure and improve supplier performance and escalate issues to key stakeholders
- Close liaison with suppliers, customers & the procurement team
- Working closely with value streams to develop & maintain material replenishment systems, flow improvements and visual ordering triggers
Profile
The successful candidate for the Supply Planner role will ideally have some of the following key skills and qualities;
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Previous experience within a purchasing and supply chain capacity
- Able to work as part of a team
- Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to build successful relationships at all business levels both internally and with suppliers
- Confident self-starter, able to manage their time effectively to achieve individual and departmental KPI's and targets
- Tenacious problem solver able to operate in a demanding business environment
- Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Degree educated
