This Bedfordshire based high tech engineering firm has a permanent opportunity for a Procurement Coordinator / Administrator. Working closely with the UK Supply Chain and Logistics Manager this is an excellent opportunity for someone with good numerical and administration skills to progress your career within Purchasing / Procurement.

Job Purpose

  • To provide support to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager with the placing of Purchase Orders for Products, Stationary and Health & Safety Equipment.
  • Analysis of the Daily Purchase Report and Group Forecasting Reports
  • Manage the servicing and commissioning service equipment supplied. To include control of associated sales orders, method statement production, diary management and deployment and co-ordination of external contractor.

Main Responsibilities

  • Placing of purchase orders as directed by the UK Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.
  • Analysis and forecasting for commissioning and servicing stock.
  • Plan the deployment of external contractor for servicing and commission of equipment
  • Processing of all sales orders and associated paperwork to include method statements relating to servicing and commissioning.
  • Placing of purchase orders for specific items such as Fast-Fits as directed by the Customer Services Manager.
  • Create Digital Purchase Orders for items and maintain excel spreadsheet.
  • Organise and file all necessary paperwork associated with each purchase order placed i.e. Receipt slips and order acknowledgements etc.
  • Receiving order acknowledgements and check items and pricing match.
  • Amendment of purchase orders as and when required.
  • Filing closed PO’s and archiving periodically
  • Update and obtain transfer prices on items.
  • Monitor and chase expected lead times and delivery dates for orders placed.
  • Answering email/telephone queries.
  • Handle the post to include distribution to appropriate person, organise recorded and special deliveries and office supplies such as stationary and consumables.
  • Run and analyse the Daily Purchase Report and place necessary stock orders in the absence of the UK Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.
  • Assist with Internal & External Audit requirements

The Person

  • Educated to GCSE level in Maths, English
  • Computer Literate
  • Worked in a Purchasing or similar administrative role previously
  • Organised
  • Good Communication skills
  • Passion for continuous learning and development.
  • Excellent and proven interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Working well under pressure, and engaging at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally.
  • Ability to make and accept challenge positively and debate confidently.
  • Credible with peers and able to demonstrate added value.

  • Good business acumen, ability to interpret data and make well informed sound business decisions.

Salary

A salary of between £24k and £28k plus additional benefits is being offered along with the opportunity to take on more responsibility and progress your career within Procurement and Logistics.
