TRAINEE CONTRACTS MANAGER
PROJECTS WILL BE IN LONDON AND SOUTH EAST LONDON
Location : Candidate needs to live near Watford as will go to Head Office.
Salary :£30,000
MUST DRIVE
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Good working knowledge of British building practices
- preferably the fast track leisure industry such as hotels , bars, shops and restaurants.
My client is currently working with Enterprise Inns, Mitchells and Butler, Holiday Inn, Walkabout pubs and Pauls Bakeries.
-SMSTS
-Good Health & Safety knowledge
-CSCS
-Driving licence
As a trainee Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for my client's smaller projects from £5000 small maintenance projects to £200,000 refurbishment projects. You would also be the main point of contact for clients, site managers and building contractors throughout the project. Your main responsibilities would be to:
- Meet with clients to understand what they want to do. Most of these projects are costed online to clients rates.
- Put together plans and estimates, including budgets and timescales
- Prepare and present documents for tenders
- Contribute to work planning, and brief project teams, contractors and suppliers
- Agree any extra work to be done within set timescales
- Gather all information together for invoicing at the end of the project
- Supply information to resolve disputes if they arise
- Identify areas for improvement in existing contracting processes
- Overseeing Health and Safety on site
You will be working closely with other construction professionals, including construction managers, quantity surveyors and planning engineers. Skills, interests and qualities;
- A good knowledge and understanding of construction and issues such as building regulations and planning
- Commercial awareness
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
- Strong maths and IT skills
- Good budgeting skills
- The ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
- The ability to work to deadlines
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills
- An understanding of health and safety issues
