Technical Buyer
- Competitive Salary up to c£45k + package
World class manufacturer to the motorsport and Automotive world are looking for a Buyer to be responsible for sourcing mechanical and proprietary goods and services, including general order administration and management
Overall Objective:
- To purchase goods and services in line with current procurement policies and procedures.
- Supplier management and development with key objectives to improve Quality and Delivery performance from Suppliers.
- To create and complete strategic objectives aimed at reducing costs and improve operating efficiencies.
Key accountabilities:
- To be responsible for sourcing mechanical and proprietary goods and services, including general order administration and management using company’s ERP system.
- To provide company wide support to all purchasing activity.
- To carry out external & internal expediting, liaising with internal Planners and Business Managers.
- To provide Production planning input and support.
- To assist with and ensure resolution of technical manufacturing queries.
- To resolve quality or non-conformances issues with Quality Department.
- To participate in concurrent engineering with designers/suppliers to aid DFM and lead-time reductions.
- To liaise with Finance department to resolve invoicing queries.
- To carry out supplier performance management (Quality/Delivery/Cost).
- To carry out supplier selection and development.
- To identify and participate in costing saving exercises.
- To develop departmental strategies to improve operating efficiencies.
- To attend annual Personal Development Reviews (PDR).
- To support the Department Development Plans.
- To follow the company quality procedures.
- To observe the Health and Safety rules at all times.
- To carry out any reasonable additional duties as requested by management.
