REED Property & Construction are delighted to be working alongside a national housing developer to source a Buyer to join their expanding team.
This is a newly created position within Aberdeen and presents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.
On top of a competitive salary, there is an annual bonus, car allowance and private medical care.
Historically, our client has sourced materials for the North-east through their centralised Buying department. However, the decision has been made to establish a local buying presence. You will be tasked with managing a site portfolio of typically five to seven sites pith an output of roughly 200 properties per annum.
Main duties of the Buyer will include, but not be limited to –
- Establish, command and lead the buying function within the region
- Establish material take-offs
- Cost effective procurement of raw materials in an efficient manner – typically bricks, blocks, masonry, timber, timber kits etc.
- Manage and expand the database of sub-contractors and suppliers
- Provide cost reports and key updates of projects
- For the right candidate, you have the opportunity to also be exposes to typical Quantity Surveying duties – producing accurate estimates, budgets, forecasts and cost control measures
We require candidates with the following –
- Recent and relevant experience working as a Buyer within the construction industry
- Flexibility in relation to day-to-day tasks
- Construction related qualification i.e. HNC in Building Studies (Desirable)
- RICS qualifications (Desirable)
