Procurement Officer

I am working with a globally renowned leading systems and engineering company who are looking for a Procurement Officer.

Salary: Up to £45,000

Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to support the procurement manager with current projects and be comfortable working autonomously with different areas of the business.

The procurement officer will be expected to undertake a subset of duties, similar the procurement manager covering professional services procurement to support client engagements, and indirect procurement. Additionally, they may be assigned strategic projects to own and oversee (e.g. enhancements to the supplier due diligence process, or IT procurement activities).

The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Significant procurement experience (procurement focused rather than supplier relationship management focused)
• Must have experience negotiating legal contracts (final responsibility for signing off legal agreements is supported by the contracts team) and be confident liaising with stakeholders on procurement projects.
• Must have experience in indirect procurement (services not commodities). It is to your advantage if you have any or all the following additional requirements:
• Degree educated or equivalent
• All procurement categories considered - preference towards professional services.
• Strong preference towards candidates with procurement experience in MOD / defence / public sector (experience of complex MOD contracts)
• CIPS or working towards favourable
• Support in attaining professional membership
