Job Details
Our client is a universally known and respected technology firm operating in over 60 countries worldwide, that are capitalising on their impressive growth in 2018. Due to further worldwide expansion plans, they are looking for a Category Manager to make a direct impact on their procurement function and be instrumental in the company's future success.
The successful candidate will work from their state-of-the-art facility will be expected to hit the ground running, influencing the procurement strategy, planning and execution of a number of global turnkey FM and Construction projects.
The Role:
- Managing projects such as building offices, factories, warehouses and retail units as well as sourcing services that go into each. It is imperative that candidates have experienced end-to-end turnkey construction procurement projects
- Drive business outcomes by providing subject-matter expertise and achieving savings
- Creating and influencing the overall procurement strategy within the category by creating sub-categories to achieve their goals
- Upon successful completion of projects, you will work on operational procurement on opening retail stores, including Facilities Management sub-categories like M&E, cleaning, security
The Category Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Play a vital role in the overall procurement category strategy, create sub-category strategies as listed above to achieve company goals
- Drive business outcomes with subject-matter-expertise through the category planning lifecycle - achieving savings for the business
- Monitoring the supplier market and identify opportunities for new product offerings and/or market shifts
- Monitor indirect procurement spend compliance and act accordingly
Criteria for the Category Manager:
- Strong history within complex FM and Construction procurement categories
- Experience within a matrix organisation
- Confidence and credibility when managing and influencing senior internal/external stakeholders
- Track record of working within fixed budgets, and delivering projects in a timely manner, whilst achieving strong individual savings against said budgets
- Previous experience working on procurement projects across new builds and fit outs
- Strong negotiation skills
