Buyer (FMCG - Non Food Products)

Role Title Buyer Stockport £30,000-£35,000 + Benefits Role Profile Our client is a growing business based in Stockport, who is looking to recruit a highly driven, enthusiastic and ambitious Buyer to join their friendly and close-knit team. Reporting into the Director, you will be involved in placing orders for the company for either full suppliers or individual strategic and bulk purchases. You will work closely with your Buying Assistant and Junior Buying Assistant who both report into you, to provide support to them and show them how to develop strategies for your categories to maximise sales and profit. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking and commercial individual to join an expanding business that can offer fantastic development opportunities. Key Responsibilities * New line listings * Product range * Over'riders * General discounts * Promotional discounts * Advertising monies * Maximise sales and profit on a wide range of categories including; Household Cleaning products, Pet Food, Toiletries, Shelf-bought medicines * Maintaining healthy and profitable supplier relationships Skills & Experience To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas: * Buying experience and understanding of working in a Head Office is essential * Desire to be in a FMCG Buying role * Able to manage two reports and focus on their development * Common sense approach to buying * Strong negotiation skills * Commercially aware * Strong relationship builder * Drive and motivation * Ambitious and the right attitude Client information A well-established Retail business who specialise in a wide range of products from food, drink and non-food lines, with extensive ranges of branded products and own label products.
