This established company in Sutton Coldfield is now looking to appoint a Buyer to join their busy team.
The Role:
The Buyer has a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of the Supply Chain, through active supplier relationship management, whilst delivering on cost savings to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of materials, ensuring on time delivery and active supplier relationship management
- Monitoring supplier performance and resolving and escalating queries where necessary
- Undertake and maintain market analysis and bench marking to validate current costs and identify opportunities
- Working closely with the wider procurement team within to assist with cost saving initiatives
- Operate and be accountable for the given product portfolio
- To ensure compliance with Company Procurement Policies
- Identify cost saving opportunities within the market through spend analysis
- To promote an environmentally protective and H&S conscious work environment
- Stores and stock management
- Line management for the Purchasing and Stores team
The candidate:
- Highly IT Literate (SAP experience preferable)
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills
- Ability to manage a demanding workload effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- Good communicator able to build and maintain supplier relationships
Additional information:
- 37.5 hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
- 3 month contract (may be extended)
- Salary £25k
- Good office location and free parking
