About the role:

We are looking for a full time Freight Export Controller to join the Freight Management department. The team is responsible for co-ordinating the Press’ inbound and outbound freight shipments, which form an integral part of the wider Supply Logistics function. You will ensure the smooth running of the Drop Shipment Export process from our Global Printers to Cambridge University Press warehouses, and our end customers.

A key part of the role requires liaising with the Printers and also our freight forwarding partners to arrange transportation and to ensure that both our internal and external customers receive goods in a timely and compliant manner.

Members of the freight management team are expected to work closely with our colleagues in Demand Planning and Supply Chain along with our Trade Compliance team to ensure shipments are made in the most efficient fashion.

You will join a small team where success is measured by keeping a keen control on costs, delivering value for money and the effective communication (both written and verbally) with colleagues and clients.

Skills and experience required to become our Freight Export Controller:

- Good understanding of supply chain processes and principles

- Analytical mind set and the ability to interpret data effectively

- Good working knowledge of Excel, word and power point and other MS related tools is essential

- Proven experience as a logistics coordinator with knowledge of Export/Import Freight processes

- Able to prioritise your workload efficiently and be willing to adapt quickly to changing procedures

- Knowledge of SAP Supply Chain processes is preferable
