Logistics Manager (Major Construction Project) - Central London

Our client is one of the biggest names in UK Construction, requiring no introduction. Having recently secured several major projects we have been asked supply am experienced Logistics Manager for a challenging job in Central London. The project is a new build, High Spec Residential project in Central London. The scheme is located in an area of high foot flow, there are multiple live construction projects close by and there is consistently heavy vehicle traffic, all of which makes for a complex logistics exercise. You will be responsible for planning and managing the ins and outs of all materials, plant and miscellaneous deliveries into the site. You will report into the Senior PM and Project Director on site.

Responsibilities:

- Managing Health & Safety on the ground, ensuring that all traffic management staff and site operatives are safe at all times.
- Promoting and integrating behavioural safety initiatives through induction, presentation and on-site management.
- Assessing and commentating on the adequacy of method statements and risk assessments.
- Researching best practice and communicating new initiatives in relation to the logistical aspects of the project.
- Ensuring that Client's submittals, requests for information and clarifications are promptly and comprehensively responded to using Company's document control system.
- Prioritising work and allocation of resources.
- Preparing progress reports and presenting data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for chairing regular trade co-ordination meetings to ensure that information is cascaded in a timely manner.
- Undertaking on-site safety, environmental and quality assurance inspections.
- Ensuring actions are recorded and closed out in line with company procedures and timescales.
- Administrator DMS software to ensure efficient delivery of materials to site on a 'just in time' basis.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and auditing construction logistics related systems.

Experience required:

- Min. 5 years' experience as Logistics Manager
- Major build project experience in heavily congested locations
- CSCS, SMSTS, 1st Aid, Traffic Marshall Certified
