Operations Manager - Reinsurance

A premier Lloyd's Market and Global Insurer have a new opportunity for a Ceded Reinsurance Operations Manager.

You will provide strategic and operational support to the Head of Ceded Reinsurance in delivering the company vision of being the highest performing specialist insurer. You will work with the Head of Ceded Reinsurance in the leading, managing, operation and development of the Reinsurance Administration team.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Head of Ceded Reinsurance to:

Run all operational elements of the Ceded Reinsurance function
Deliver an effective and efficient reinsurance administration strategy.
Develop and maintain the reinsurance administration function so as to support the company's vision of being the highest performing specialist insurer
Review and evaluate current operations and systems in terms of efficiency and to advise on their adequacy and suitability and making recommendations to the Head of Department and implementing any changes if appropriate.
Participate in strategic and short, medium and long-term planning, where required.

Leadership
Manage the Reinsurance Administration team to ensure standards of accuracy and customer service are defined, monitored and maintained within core business functions.
Ensure the structure of the Reinsurance Administration team is fit for purpose, and review the structure on an ongoing basis to ensure operational efficiency.
Ensure each member of the team has terms of reference setting out their responsibilities and reporting lines.
Ensure that people are recruited, deployed and developed to anticipate and meet current and future needs.
Ensure that all employees have the knowledge and the skills necessary to perform effectively in their given roles and responsibilities.

Operational Support
Ensure proper and effective administration of reinsurance programmes
Identify opportunities for improving processes including process re-engineering, working with business users and IT.
Ensure that Ceded Reinsurance has full ownership and understanding of reinsurance-related figures and contributes actively to the peer review process.
Responsible for the integrity of reinsurance-related data.

Person Specification
Extensive Operations Management experience in the insurance industry, preferably Lloyd's Market
Experience of implementing process improvement, ideally within a traditional environment
Demonstrable process management skills.
Extensive experience of operational management
Previous dealings with reinsurance desirable
Good working understanding of financial analysis and interpretation
