Road Freight Import Operator

Excellent opportunity to work for a freight business benefiting from a fantastic independent European network which includes direct services to Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Switzerland, service levels are second to none. The head office is Essex has a sizeable warehouse providing additional storage and pick & pack services.

Duties:

• Working within a team, reporting directly to operations manager
• Handling European groupage services, Central and Western European markets, predominantly import
• Arranging movement of freight from origin to final destination, both international and national
• Liaising with customers, overseas partners and suppliers
• Holiday cover of colleagues.

Required experience

• Must have a good understanding of European road freight, at least 2 years’ experience
• Capable of manually calculating costs and charges / revenue manually - a good understanding of 'taxablekilos’ is essential
• Good customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team but also be self-sufficient.
