Assistant Buyer

Due to expansion, Kingscroft have been asked to recruit for an Assistant Buyer on behalf of a Civil Engineering business within the South Birmingham area. They are looking for candidates who have buying/purchasing experience and ideally be from the Construction/Civil Engineering industry, although they are open to all industries. Ideally at an Assistant Buyer level, my client are looking for an addition to the small buying team to be responsible for purchasing of materials for site/projects across the country. For an experienced Assistant Buyer, my client will be looking to pay a competitive salary ranging from £22k-£28k with scope to develop over time.

Duties:

• Negotiating the costs of materials from suppliers.
• Purchasing of the materials for sites/projects.
• Liaising with site teams and management to not over/under order materials.
• Providing cost effective buying solutions.
• General buying/purchasing administration.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced within a Buying/Purchasing role.
• Ideally from or have knowledge of the Construction/Civil Engineering industry.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers to get the best price for materials.
• Good level of IT Skills - Microsoft Office etc.
• Ability to work as part of a team, but also alone.
• Good, clear communication skills.
