Role Purpose

Working closely with the Commercial Team to provide consistent, high level technical HMRC Compliance support and knowledge to new and existing clients. Ensure best practice is embedded into our clients with a focus on commerciality in order gain maximum client development.

Responsibilities

• Provide Technical Advice while maintaining a Commercial outlook on the both us and the client

• Process all diversions to Home Use requests for the client and present to HMRC on behalf of the client

• Ensure that the monthly statutory requirements are submitted to the HMRC on behalf of the client

• Apply for and manage client HMRC MSS Reports

• Assist with any HMRC applications for Special Procedures on behalf of the client

• Manage the clients HMRC records where required

• Where necessary provide support from 'in-house’ at a client’s premises

• Carry out any Import/Export amendments on behalf of the client

• Conduct client reviews prior to HMRC Audits to reduce their risk to financial exposure

• Provide Reports of Findings from Reviews and recommendations which would allow give us a clear advantage

• Assist with the preparation, co-ordination and delivery of any training courses being organised by the customs department

• Regularly review Department and own workload to ensure that client objectives are met

• Attend any HMRC intervention at the request of our client to provide support

• Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to ensure that best advantage is taken by us of any HMRC support given

Criteria

• Freight forwarding/Logistics/Customs familiarity is essential

• Experience of Microsoft office essential

• Experience of Visio or similar package desirable

• Strong communicator both written and verbal

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Good organisational skills

• Displays a positive attitude
