Traffic Operator (Logistics)

The Client:

Leading logistic company specialising in food logistics overseas, have now opened a new centre in Dover, Kent. As well as food, this company also distribute pharma cargos and offers comprehensive storage solutions.

This Company will manage domestic and international transports to and from UK using their own fleet of tractors and trailers.

Each vehicle is equipped with the best technology, ensuring each transportation keeps good at the correct temperature and within the right environment.

Position:

Seeking a Traffic Operator to work on a permanent (full time) basis fulfilling the following duties:

  • Co-ordinating shipments and administration duties associated
  • Ensuring the smooth shipment of freight by arranging the transport, calculating costs, insuring the freight, and contacting customer, shipping agents and brokers.
  • Responsible for payments and claims and arranging any necessary documents in relation to the shipment
  • Maintaining the customer relationships

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in the logistics sector
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organised with a good attention
  • Ability to work under pressure and previous experience working to deadlines
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to 'think on your feet' and use initiative to resolve problems
  • A foreign language is an advantage
