Role: Purchasing & Planning Manager

2Fawcett are recruiting for a Purchasing & Planning Manager, to join a company located in Derby on a permanent basis. This is a prime time for the business, which makes the Purchasing & Planning Managers role even more advantageous. Working with the Manufacturing Manager, the vacancy is original, and will allow you to really flourish and make the role your own.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Purchasing & Planning Manager

- Report to and support the Manufacturing Manager

- Manage the Purchase Order Process.

Accurately enter purchase orders,

Maintain housekeeping of PO, GRN’s and Issues

Verify PO spend is in line with estimates

All direct and some indirect expenditure is in scope

- Vendor Management

Negotiating with contractors and suppliers to obtain the best price, quality and payment terms

Relationship management

Liaise with internal stakeholders to maintain quality standards

- Monitoring/Reporting

Supplier performance - KPI’s, SLA’s

Spend analysis

On time in full performance

- Responsible for planning all work into the production plan and the handovers are completed in full.

- Administrative duties including but not limited to; Raising purchase orders, maintain project job files, updating the production plan, raise logistics paperwork.

- Utilising Progress Plus and other supporting sources of information.

- Ensure meetings are recorded clearly and to a high standard with actions which are followed up and closed out.

- Ensure customer Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are met

- Produce monthly statistics for purchasing and planning performance and KPI’s and deliver to the required performance levels.

- Interface with other departments such as Accounts, Quality and Delivery and Manufacturing.

- Ensure compliance with company document control procedures and policies.

- Maintain high standards of house-keeping.

Requirements of the Purchasing & Planning Manager

- Maths/ English level C at GCSE or equivalent

- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Good Interpersonal Skills, verbal and written

- Diplomatic

- Good ability to work to deadlines

- Adaptability

- Planning and Organising

Experience using IT and proficient in Microsoft Office software, experience with other software would be advantageous. Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment. Enthusiasm and Commitment to " getting it right first time"
