Office based in Paddington, London
A highly successful international business involved in the export and trading of raw materials and recyclables are seeking to expand their UK Office with the appointment of a Business / Logistics Analyst.
In this varied role you will support the Company’s trading activities working as part of a virtual international team. With oversight of the whole chain of activities from trading though to shipping and resale you will have a roving remit to assist in resolving operational issues and work proactively to improve business efficiency and performance. Key responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with customers and suppliers on service matters to ensure trading and logistics activities run smoothly
- Monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics and shipping activities, identifying cost saving opportunities and recommending action to improve / streamline processes and procedures.
- Monitoring trading activities ensuring protocols and procedures are followed and advising as necessary
- Recommending and implementing procedures and performance measures (KPI’s)
- Analysing trends and reporting to senior management
- Ad hoc project work as required
Candidate Profile
- Degree calibre; with related experience e.g. Supplier Management, Procurement (Buyer), Finance / Accountancy, PMO, Business Analysis, Trading, Quality Systems, Business Process Improvement (BPI), Logistics, Supplier Management, Shipping etc
- Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and a high level of proficiency in relevant IT applications coupled with an ability to identify trends from data
- Ability to prioritise action effectively and see things through to a successful outcome
- Energy, enthusiasm, flexibility personality to fit with entrepreneurial culture
- Confident, self-starter with proven influencing skills
