My client are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their team as they continue to grow globally. The role will be working in a busy supportive team of 10 and will require some international travel. 

Main duties

Responsible for the movement of stock from their global suppliers to their 3PLs in the UK, USA and China, ensuring they achieve on time delivery to required dates.

  • Lead with the advance preparation and consolidation of LCL shipments into FCL containers to maximise full container rates.
  • Plan all FCL shipments.
  • Oversee the coordination with suppliers to arrange all product shipment bookings in line with goods ready dates.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and Demand Planner to schedule efficient shipment sailings in line with scheduled drop plans.
  • Work closely with the Demand Planner, determine the best route and shipment method to move stock to destinations based on demand.
  • Arrange shipment movements from their UK 3PL to their USA 3PL, in line with stock demand.
  • Oversee the coordination and documentation required for their FOB business in FE and EU.
  • Host high level overviews of FOB shipment projects to ensure efficient processes and costs are maintained.
  • Arrange all necessary air freight shipment movements.
  • Effectively manage all open shipments that are live and in transit to their destination. This could be an airfreight, truck movement or shipment, on their internal systems. (WinMan UK and USA).
  • Monitor vessels daily notifying the business of any issues to delivery or transit.
  • Manage the coordination and execution of China distribution collections.
  • GRN all stock into relevant warehouses, on receipt of delivery notes.
  • Manage the Import & Export compliance ensuring all VAT, customs, commodity codes, DOCs for UK and USA customs clearance are prepared.
  • Ensure efficient carriers and processes are in place to deliver goods to their end customers correctly and on time. These customers could be domestic in the UK, or in Europe or the USA.
  • Report to the Warehouse Manager on the operational efficiency of goods in to their two main 3PL sites, in line with their SLAs and KPIs.
  • Ensure they have the most appropriate drayage partners in place for our USA 3PL, by assessing costs and service levels in line with their requirements.

Freight Forwarders

Ensure the company is working with the most cost-effective forwarders to manage their shipments.

Couriers

As a significant item on their budget sheet, ensure they are using the best courier solutions for their stock and sample distribution.

Skills

  • Previous experience of logistics within an international wholesale business and delivering an improved supply chain during that growth period.
  • Experience of arranging and coordinating container consolidations.
  • Good understanding of forwarders and global trade.
  • Experience of working with suppliers in China and Europe.
  • Experience of B2C and B2B business models.
  • Knowledge and experience of global export and import logistics.
  • Must be willing to travel (UK, FE, USA).
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & Outlook.
  • Experience in working with an ERP system.
