Director of Operational Finance

My client is a leading hotel operator that has a global reach and is growing rapidly, my client is looking for a Director of Operational Finance for 24 hotels in Europe. For the right candidate my client will get a salary of up to £130,000!

My client’s hotel chain is very much on the ascendance, they have a global reach and are a dominant market force within the hotel sector.

This is a senior role within finance for this hotel chain, so it will require an adept individual with all the necessary skills. You will need all the following attributes:

• The Director of Operational Finance supports the Deputy CFO and VP Operational Finance to ensure that the finance function as a whole is working smoothly, to support the business and meet reporting requirements and key stakeholders’ expectations.
• Gives input to and executes the mandate of the Deputy CFO and VP Operational Finance the CFO to fulfil the mandate of the CFO office in supporting business priorities and growth and maintaining strong internal controls at the hotels. 
• Identify and communicate hotel performance issues and opportunities through key stakeholder engagement, good understanding of the hotels/properties, and strong financial analytics. 
• Review hotel/property operations with a view to identifying particular areas for revenue improvement and cost control eg F&B, MICE, rooms etc , getting consensus of such analysis with the CFO/VP Operational Finance, taking positive steps to communicate the impact and push for action to achieve positive outcomes.
• Evaluates potential capital expenditures for feasibility and ROI, monitor progress and achievement of ROI afterwards.
• Assist and direct the hotels/properties to implement effective control processes to safeguard assets, maintain integrity in the accounts and financial reports and mitigate fraud potential.
• Assist the hotels/properties to clear audit findings and achieve satisfactory or good audit outcomes.
• Needs to be familiar with common business finance IT systems and architecture.
• Assist the CFO/VP Operational Finance with other ad-hoc tasks or projects within the CFO office from time to time.
• Models and reinforces ethical behavior in self and others in accordance to the Company SOP’s, 
• Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (Financial Controller, management accountants, Shared Service

• Assist the VP Operational Finance in the preparation of annual budget and monthly forecast for all entities in your region for submission to Group Finance.
• Analyse revenue and cost variances of hotels/properties as directed by VP Operational Finance/CFO. 
• Review hotel performance and forecast against market data 

• Experience in hotel operational finance is essential
• Multi-site experience
• Be able to guide and provide training to new hotel FCs
• Be able to travel on request and as required by the role.
