AX Automotive hires replacement vehicles to drivers involved in non faults accidents whilst organising and managing the repairs to their vehicles . When the hire vehicle is returned to us, we recover the costs from the insurance Company of the at fault driver.

We are presently looking to recruit a Transport Branch Manager to take full accountability for the day to day management and performance of our Warrington depot.

Key Accountabilities

  • To make commercially astute decisions based on real time data in order to proactively capacity plan resources
  • To drive branch performance to ensure achievement of service levels and key performance indicators including utilisation of vehicles and workforce
  • Management of effective scheduling, deployment, monitoring and reviewing of all branch activity
  • Management of drivers, removing excess costs or downtime out of the business and improving driver performance
  • To monitor and control depot costs in line with agreed budgets, taking remedial action where appropriate
  • To manage, motivate and inspire the team to deliver against company mission and values
  • To identify and develop succession planning at all levels, and undertake regular performance reviews including completion of probationary reviews and appraisals
  • To take full ownership to manage your teams performance which includes; attendance, attrition, all HR issues, achievement of targets and objectives in line with company guidelines, dashboard and processes and procedures
  • Effective use of motivational techniques to support the achievement of team and departmental goals and targets
  • Provide ongoing support to individuals through monthly and weekly; 1-2-1 activity, side by side coaching, remote monitoring to continuously improve standards and performance and behaviour
  • To work effectively with the HR Department to identify any employee development or other needs and deal with in a real time manner
  • Lead continuous improvement process to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes to make sure service delivery is right first time every time and delivers agreed margin

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable previous experience in a similar management role
  • Strong IT skills with an excellent working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to look at the bigger picture and understand the impact a course of action can have both in the short term and long term
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to develop strong business relationships with all key stakeholders
  • A proven track record of challenging constructively and influencing at all levels

  • Results orientated individual with demonstrable experience and successes achieved within a similar role
  • Excellent analytical skills - ability to use data in order to drive performance and plan resources effectively
  • Strong commercial understanding ensuring an efficient and cost effective delivery operation is maintained
  • Excellent people management skills promoting a strong team management and coaching culture
  • Excellent UK geographical knowledge
