A leading distribution business is currently recruiting for a Materials Manager / Inventory Analyst to join their very successful Supply Chain team on a permanent basis.

The Materials Manager is to analyse inventory data and providing metrics to the wider business to ensure improvements are executed. Working closely with operations team and business unit leader globally to ensure performance targets are met throughout the organisation.

Role - Materials Manager / Inventory Analyst

Type - Permanent

Location - Cradley Heath, Staffordshire

Salary - £25,000 - £35,000

Key responsibilities for Materials Manager / Inventory Analyst and will not be limited to:

  • Detailed inventory analysis on a periodic basis to understand inventory provision requirements and excess stock. As part of this, manage inventory holding of common parts across multiple warehouses - actively seek opportunities to relocate & utilise slow moving inventories
  • Interface with Quality Departments & Suppliers to resolve product quality issues resulting in quarantined inventory
  • Use business data warehouse to compile summary reports and provide regular updates to the business on KPI's and action plans for improvement
  • Develop relationships with teams globally enhance communication flow on inventory usage and transfer orders.
  • Work alongsidecounterpart to improve best working practices for inventory management and KPI reporting across the business
  • Review of inventory requirements to support key business opportunities
  • Take ownership of inventory cycle counting process; work with the warehouse team to ensure targets are met.
  • Work with operations to optimise inventory levels across the network of warehouses to support excellent levels customer service whilst balancing the cash flow demands of the business
  • Analysis of average usage to determine safety stock levels & demonstrate awareness of how best to manage risk of obsolescence
  • Take ownership for inventory forecasting on a monthly basis

Key skills & experience required for Materials Manager / Inventory Analyst applicant and will not limited to:

  • Proven track record in similar material / inventory management role
  • Strong analytical background
  • Intermediate / advance excel user
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication
